We are thrilled to announce that the bestselling Chocolate Box Girls series by Cathy Cassidy will be adapted into English language comic books.

French publisher Nathan’s huge success with the novels led to the creation of the brilliant comic book versions published by Editions Jungle.

Now Papercutz, the biggest children’s comic book publisher in the US, will translate and publish the comics for release in early 2017. The first will feature Cherry Crush and Marshmallow Skye.

We are delighted to announce that Cathy Cassidy’s foreign rights sales have hit 20 languages!

A deal was struck with Turkish publisher, Pegasus, for translation rights in the first three titles in the internationally bestselling Chocolate Box Girls series: Cherry Crush, Marshmallow Skye and Summer’s Dream.

In further exciting news, Pegasus also acquired Turkish rights in recently published SMART by Kim Slater. Turkish will be Kim’s 2nd language, with Dtv publishing in Germany.

Queen of Teen 2014

In very exciting news, our very own Cathy Cassidy has been shortlisted for Queen of Teen 2014! Cathy won the award in 2010, and this year faces competition from authors such as John Green, Beth Reekles, Cassandra Clare and James Dawson.

Since 2008, the Queen of Teen award has been dedicated to celebrating the authors from the world of teen fiction. The Queen of Teen award highlights authors who address real-life, coming-of-age issues in their stories in an honest and fun way.

Bittersweet moves up a place in the UK bestseller list to number 4, missing out on the number 3 spot by less than 100 copies!

The UK Official Top 50 combines fiction, non-fiction, children’s, cookery, all formats (hardback and paperback).

Cathy Cassidy also catapults into number 2 on the children's fiction list, ahead of almost all the other World Book Day books.

Spanish Success

The rights team are excited to announce that we have just closed two foreign rights deals for Cathy Cassidy’s internationally bestselling Chocolate Box Girls series: Cherry Crush and Marshmallow Skye.

Destino Infantil & Juvenil will publish in Spanish and Grup62 will publish in Catalan which means that these two titles are sold in 12 languages each. In total, Cathy’s books are now sold into 22 languages!

Cathy Cassidy has just returned from a fantastic trip to Paris for the Montreuil Children’s Book Festival.


The fair opened on Wednesday 27th November and lasted until 2nd December. Cathy  received a very warm welcome from her French publisher, Nathan, and they made it a very special and memorable trip for her. Cathy said: ‘I am so happy with what they are doing, and that the books are doing so well.’


In some exciting news for Cathy and the agency, the rights team are currently negotiating the first ever deal in comic rights, for THE CHOCOLATE BOX GIRLS: CHERRY CRUSH, with Editions Jungle. Cathy has seen the roughs for the edition and is thrilled.

Thursday the 7th of March is World Book Day. Childrens authors and illustrators will be taking part in live events across the country to encourage children to read. All nursery, primary and selected secondary school children will be given a £1 book token to buy one of these eight books.

Top children's book author Cathy Cassidy has recently returned from Poland where she delighted her young fans at the Warsaw Book Fair.

A huge auditorium was packed full of excited children. Cathy also visited several libraries to chat with some younger children about her wonderful Daizy Star series and sign copies of Angel Cake for her slightly older fans.
