Sunita Chawdhary
Author
Sunita is an author-illustrator and doctor specialising in mental health. Her award-winning debut chapter book series Mind & Me inspires young readers to get to know and look after their unique minds.
She has illustrated picture books in the series Together We Can Change The World, featured on Emirates’ in-flight entertainment, reaching children globally with empowering messages about love and courage.
Sunita studied Art and Design in London, Art and Anatomy in Oxford, and completed a Foundation Course in Art Therapy after medical school. She was shortlisted for the Penguin Random House WriteNow programme in 2018 and commended for the Faber Andlyn BAME (FAB) Prize in 2019.
Sunita is passionate about the interfaces between creativity, literacy and health and wellbeing.
She draws on her experiences of growing up in Asia, America and Europe, believing children of all backgrounds should be represented in print.
She loves dreaming with her husband and counting stars with their children.
