Briana Fitzsimons

Briana is an author, anti-racism advocate, educator and DEI consultant.

She was a teacher for 13 years and has been working in the area of anti-racism education since 2021. As a mixed-race woman raising mixed-race Irish kids, Briana wants to write the books that she never had as a child and needs as a parent that showcase the stunning beauty in diversity.

Her award-winning book, Black & Irish: Legends, Trailblazers and Everyday Heroes was published in 2023 to critical acclaim. She was named one of the “50 to Watch in 2024” by The Irish Times and one of the “100 Women of 2024” by the Irish Examiner. Briana lives in Co. Kildare with her husband and two children and is proud to call Ireland home.
