Laila Rifaat writes MG and YA fantasy. She is the author of a middle-grade series set in an alternate Egypt (Chicken House Books). Laila lives in Cairo, Egypt, and has a Master in English and Comparative Literature. She has worked as an English teacher but now writes full time.
Her debut, Aliya to the Infinite City, was selected by the Guardian as one of the best, new middle-grade novels in Feb 2024.
