Lucy Tandon Copp

An award-winning journalist, Lucy is currently on the Penguin WriteNow '22 editorial programme and is a former recipient of the NUJ's George Viner Memorial Fund scholarship, which aims to increase diversity in the British media.

With English and Malaysian-Chinese mixed race heritage, she is passionate about increasing mixed race and British ESEA representation in children's books through the creation of lovable characters and heart-warming stories that everyone can relate to.

Lucy was born in Oxfordshire, read Classics at the University of Bristol and qualified as an NCTJ-trained journalist at News Associates in London.

She now lives in Kent with her husband, two daughters and a not-so-miniature schnauzer called Moose. Her emotive prose debut is due to be published in 2024, so watch this space!
