Submissions should be made for the attention of Children's Books and can be emailed to childrens@darleyanderson.com
Illustrations, picture books and picture book texts should be made for the attention of Sophie Gordon and can be emailed to childrens@darleyanderson.com. Please do go ahead and send us the full picture book or picture book text.
For both fiction and non-fiction we initially prefer to see a short synopsis and the first three consecutive chapters together with a covering letter. An SAE for return of the material is vital if you would like a reply.
Submissions should not be stapled or bound.
We prefer to read material exclusively. If other agents or publishers have read this material or will be reading this material at the same time please could you let us know in your covering letter.
While we receive up to 300 submissions a week we make every effort to read material quickly, and aim to respond within a month of receipt.
Authors should retain the top copy of material submitted to us. Whilst every care is taken of manuscripts/submissions we cannot be held responsible for any loss, damage, destruction or delay in their return whatever the cause.
We do nont charge a reading fee. And we do not accept submissions by Fax.
