Rob Stevens first displayed literary promise at primary school. When he was eight he won second prize in a competition to write a poem commemorating the Queen's Silver Jubilee. Naturally Rob was pleased and proud - and not at all bitter that the winning poem didn't even rhyme.
Rob was never what you would call a bookworm although he remembers reading Stig of the Dump in one sitting (sustained by a quarter of cola cubes}. The Willard Price Adventure Series and E.T. the Extraterrestrial (the book of the movie) were other favorites.
Rob went to Bournemouth grammar school before studying at Cambridge University where he gained an Engineering degree and a boxing Blue. After graduating he trained to be a commercial pilot. He has worked for airlines based in Hong Kong and Dubai and is now a captain with a major British carrier.
Rob lives on the Dorset coast with his wife and two young sons. He does most of his writing when he is away from home, making full use of what his hotel room has to offer - solitude, tranquility, and free pens.
