Michelle Harrison grew up in Grays, Essex, and has worked as a barmaid, in an art gallery, and as a children's bookseller. She now works in children's publishing and lives with her partner, Darren, and their cat, Pepper.
Her debut novel The Thirteen Treasures won the Waterstone's Children's Book Prize in 2009 and has been sold in over ten countries.
