Lucy Jones

Lucy Jones is a writer living in East Devon.

As a child she was fascinated by the supernatural, snakes and anything with eight legs. (In fact, she still is... no surprise she went on to write horror stories!) After completing her A levels, she set about fulfilling her lifelong ambition of becoming a children’s author.

She has attended an Arvon course at Toleigh Barton and is a long standing member of SCBWI. She has been writing short stories for fun since she was twelve, although ‘The Nightmare Factory’ is her first official novel, which bizarrely, came to her in the form of a dream.

THE FIRST IN A NEW SERIES ABOUT A BOY WHO IS STOLEN FROM HIS DREAM AND TAKEN TO THE PLACE NIGHTMARES ARE MADE…

Eleven year old Andrew Barns is afraid of absolutely nothing... well almost nothing, but that’s why the shadowmares want him.

Andrew and his twin sister are stolen from their dreams and taken to The Nightmare Factory, where Andrew must not let the strange hooded creatures discover his only fear. If they do... earth shattering consequences could follow.

They meet thirteen year old Dan, and together they form a plan to escape which involves battling a troll and travelling through a mountain full of terrifying creatures.

Can Andrew learn how to use his powers in time and save the world from a nightmare worse than death?
