Cathy Cassidy was born and brought up in Coventry.
She wrote her first picture book at the age of eight for her brother, Andy and sold her first short story to a national magazine at 16. After a degree in illustration she worked on national teen and educational magazines before qualifying as an art teacher.
She now lives in scotland with her husband, her two children and a small menagerie.
Cathy was crowned the Queen of Teen 2010 after thousands of girls Worldwide voted her their favorite author.
